Gandoura

The gandoura is the lightest piece we make and the one people buy first. Half sleeves, cut wide and roomy through the body, with a V neckline finished in hand-worked embroidery and button loops. Two deep pockets are sewn into the sides.

Also spelled gandora or gandurah, it is the everyday Moroccan robe: worn at home, to the mosque, through hot months where anything heavier is unwearable. Ours are a polyester and rayon blend chosen to stay breathable and hold a clean line rather than cling.

Twelve colors, from black, gray and brown to emerald green, teal and salmon. At $65.99 it is the easiest way into Moroccan dress, and the piece most of our customers end up owning in three or four colors.

Gandoura or kaftan?

The gandoura is half-sleeved, roomier and lighter. The kaftan is long-sleeved, more tailored and more formal. If you want something for daily wear and hot weather, take the gandoura. If you want something for an occasion, take the kaftan.

Sizing

S to 2XL, cut generously. Measurements and height ranges are on the size guide. Our model is 5'10" and 155 lbs wearing Large.
